At the heart of most every LED lighting system is an LED Controller. Boogey Lights® offers the most extensive line of LED controllers available anywhere.
What is an LED controller and why do I need one?
An LED controller is required for Multi-Color (aka RGB) LEDs; they won't work without one. It's optional for Single Color LEDs. In the most simplest of terms, for Multi-Color LEDs, an LED controller is what controls the color selection capabilities, diming, brightness, on/off and any available lighting effects. For single color LEDs, a controller is used for dimming and on/off. The controller is usually operated via a wireless remote control and/or a Bluetooth enabled smartphone and special APP.
REMOTE CONTROL OPTIONS & FEATURES
For our RV LED lighting kits, the LED controller can be operated using a wireless RF remote. We offer two wireless remote styles: an M7 tv remote style hand-held remote; or, a smaller KEY FOB remote. In addition to the standard wireless RF remote, we offer a BLUETOOTH upgrade to the LED controller. The Bluetooth upgrade allows you to operate the LED controller remotely using your Bluetooth enabled smartphone along with our free APP (Android or IOS).

- Seven colors: Red, Green, Blue, White, Light Blue, Boogey Lights Green (lime green/yellow), Hot Pink/Purple
Bluetooth Upgrade Features
With the optional Bluetooth upgrade (and in addition to having the RF wireless hand-held remote), you can also control your lights with your smartphone (Android or IOS). With this upgrade, the controller is capable of displaying up to 16 million different color combinations. In addition, lighting effects on the smartphone controller are signficantly more controllable in terms of speed and intensity. Each color and lighting effect is controlled by "sliders" or a color square on your smartphone screen so you can adjust the speed and intensity to get the lighting exactly the way you want it. Additionally, there are three presets which allow you to save favorite settings. The Bluetooth upgrade also gives you the ability to program the controller to display two or three colors of your choice and then rotate those colors in sequence. For example, let's say it's Fourth of July and you want your lights to rotate through the color sequence of RED, WHITE and BLUE . Or, perhaps your favorite sports team's colors are Red and White and you want your lights to continually rotate through a color sequence of RED and WHITE. The Bluetooth enabled controller and smartphone APP will do that - and more. You can for instance vary the speed of the sequence as well as the brightness. You can also choose from one of two different sequencing effect modes: BREATHING or ROLLING. Additionally, you can save these configurations in up to three presets such that you're able to recall the lighting configuration with a press of a button.
CAPACITY OPTIONS
In addition to offering different remote control capabilities, our LED controllers also have different LED capacity limits. We offer three different LED controller capacity sizes:
1. The 'PLUS' Multi-Color LED Controller. This controller is rated at 300 LEDs. It's our most popular LED controller used not only for RV awning kits but also on a wide variety of motorsports applications (e.g. motorcycles, cars, small marine applications). If you're purchasing an awning light kit, this controller is the standard controller we recommend for those who want to light up one awning.
2. The 'SUPER' Multi-Color LED Controller. This controller is rated at 900 LEDs. At three times the capacity of our PLUS controller, this SUPER controller is perfect for installations where the customer wants some room to grow or light up more areas of their vehicle.
3. The 'HEAVY DUTY' Multi-Color LED Controller. This controller is rated at 1800 LEDs. It's most commonly used in our RV Under-Glow kits but is also used in a wide variety of other applications where the customer wants the ability to expand their lighting setup.
Regardless of which controller capacity option you choose, all three of these LED controllers are available with an RF wireless remote control (M7 or KEYFOB version) as well as the Bluetooth upgrade. All Boogey Lights controllers are powered by 12vdc although we offer a 120vac converter if desired. Important to note too that all Boogey Lights® LED controllers are positive switched controllers designed to work with common cathode LEDs.
