When Can I Expect My Order to Arrive?
How quickly your order arrives is determined by these FOUR FACTORS:
FACTOR 1: The number of orders in the build queue at the time your order is placed. We publish this number on every product page (immediately below the ADD TO CART button) and at the top of the checkout page every business day. It's updated twice every hour.
FACTOR 2: The complexity of the orders in the build queue ahead of your order. For example, some orders only require a few LED strips to be built. These orders take 15 to 60 minutes to build. Others require 20, 30 or more LED light strips to be built. These can take 2, 3 or more hours to build. Each light kit is different with a wide range of variables impacting the total build time. The number of LEDs strips, the LED Color, LED type, LED lengths, power lead lengths and LED control center build outs all impact the build time queue. If you're looking for an average, we can typically build 10 to 30 orders per day. Sometimes less, sometimes more ... but it's a good range for planning. [NOTE: If your order doesn't have any light strips in it, see note below.]
FACTOR 3: The ship-to address relative to our manufacturing facility in Florence KY (41042). Locations east of the Mississippi are typically 1-3 days via ground. Locations west of the Mississippi are typically 4-6 days via ground.
FACTOR 4: The shipping method you select at checkout. Free shipping for example will be ground but if you want it faster, you can pay for a faster, expedited shipping method.
Expedited Shipping Method? If you chose an expedited shipping method at checkout it doesn't mean your order will leave our facility faster than orders placed ahead of yours. It means that when your order is built and ready to be shipped, the shipping method we use will be an expedited shipping method so it will arrive sooner than if shipped via ground.
Priority Processing? For some light kits, we offer Priority Processing. This means we'll build and ship the light kit within TWO business days regardless of the current build time estimate. For more about this option, scroll down and expand the section titled, 'What is Priority Processing?'.
We publish the estimated production build time on every product page as well as on the checkout page. It's updated twice every hour of every day. We also include this information on the order confirmation email. The current estimated build time is in the box below.
If Your Order Doesn't Include LED Strips
What is Priority Processing?
If Priority Processing is offered on the product you're purchasing and assuming the configuration you select for that product is eligible for Priority Processing, you can select 'YES' (default is 'NO') and your order will be given priority in our build queue such that we'll build and ship your order using the shipping method you selected at checkout within TWO business days or less regardless of the current build time estimate as explained above. Be aware that not all product configurations are eligible for Priority Processing. For example, if your light kit has an LED CONTROL CENTER in it, we do not offer Priority Processing on that order. Also, we exclude high demand lighting components that are often purchased in bulk by commercial accounts (eg. RED 75 Heavy Duty LED strips).
Business Day Note: The 'Business Day' cut off time is NOON Eastern Time. If for example you place your order before noon on Monday, we'll build and ship your order no later than Wednesday. If you place that same order after 12 noon eastern on Monday, we'll build and ship your order no later than Thursday. If for some reason we're unable to do this (e.g. out of stock item or some other limitation), we'll reach out to you via email to ask you how you want to proceed.
Priority Processing is offered per line item, not per order. If your order has multiple LED light kits or LED strip components on it, only those products that are eligible for Priority Processing (and selected as YES) will be shipped within the two business day time frame. Any remaining light kit products will be shipped via ground per our normal build time estimate. If your order has other non-LED components on it (e.g. controllers, switches, replacement parts, wire, 3M primer, etc), we will ship them with the priority processing item.
Does this mean that orders placed ahead of mine are being pushed back?
If I upgrade my shipping to 2 day or overnight, does this speed up the build time?
About Our Build Time Estimate
Boogey Lights® is a manufacturer. Not a reseller. There's a difference. Most LED lighting systems sold today are private labeled systems mass produced for a wide variety of applications. They're sold by companies who put their logo on the product and resell the product under their brand name but it's the same product sold by every other company. Boogey Lights® is different. Our lighting systems are purpose built for the lighting applications you see offered here on our website. They are specific to our brand and the applications we support. They cannot be purchased in any form any where else. More importantly, our lighting systems are custom built to order. When you place your order, we build it to the specifications you select. No other company offers this level of customization or flexibility. None. Zero. We currently offer more than 1500 different combinations of LED colors, styles and configurations each with at least 15 different controller and switching options.
We plan our component parts needs 90 to 120 days out. None of our core lighting components are available in the USA (more about that here). And because these lighting systems are unique to us, the components aren't mass produced. There's always a time delay from when we place our components orders to when we receive them. Sometimes it's as short as 10 days. Other times it can be 20-45 days or more. If sales of a specific product configuration out-pace projections, we're going to be temporarily out of stock for the components that make up that specific product configuration / combination. While we try to avoid these situations, it's impossible to accurately predict sales 2 or 3 months out for the components needed to build all possible product configuration options we offer. We mention this because the delivery time frame quoted on the product page here is an estimate. It's not a guarantee. When you place an order be aware it's possible we may not be able to ship your order in the time frame as stated here. In most cases we will but not always. While we will typically reach out to customers via email in these situations, we generally don't do so unless we know the delay will be greater than 10 days. For those who aren't comfortable with paying for the product when the order is placed knowing their order may not be shipped as quickly as we project, we suggest reaching out to us first before placing your order. Ultimately though in these situations we're always happy to issue refunds to customers who can't wait the additional time for the components to arrive to build out their kit.
