Hi-Intensity 90 LED Motorcycle Engine Light Kit with Ground Effects (RGB)
Hi-Intensity Multi-Color 90 LED Motorcycle Engine Light Kit with Ground Effects
NEW CONFIGURATION! Introducing our 90 LED Hi-Intensity Motorcycle Engine Light kit with Ground Effects. Built on our Hi-Intensity Motorsports LED strips, these strips have more LEDs per inch than comparable strips on the market today. More LEDs means more light shining on your engine! This kit uses a new and improved configuration of our Value and Premium Series LED strips. Built with two ounce copper PCB, the brightest 5050 LEDs available and 1.2mm of genuine 3M® VHB double sided tape, these LED strips are made tough for motor sports applications. Impressively bright, our Hi-Intensity LED strips are thin so they can barely be seen when attached to the bottom of your tank. They produce a smooth, even glow of light. This 90 LED kit lights your motorcycle engine and ground below with any of seven different colors and animate them with special effects using the included wireless RF remote control. Original owner lifetime warranty on the LED strips.
If you're looking to add more lights to your configuration, perhaps add some LEDs under the saddle bags or even wheel lights, check out our multi-color TOURING & BAGGER LED light kit. It includes an engine light kit PLUS adds lights for under the saddle bags as well as wheel lights.
While placement is ultimately up to you, most customers place one 21 LED cluster under each side of the tank and a 9-LED cluster strip behind the breather and another on the horn cover. If either the 21 LED or 9 LED cluster is too long, you can cut it every 3-LEDs. When cutting a strip you will need to place a piece of heat shrink tubing over the cut ends to make a watertight and insulated seal. As an option, you can also use silicon sealant or liquid electrical tape. Metric bikes with a large tank may need an entire strip under each side of the tank, whereas a typical Harley will take a 21-LED or 24-LED cluster under each side of the tank. Call us if you are unsure where to make your cut. Next, place the 18-LED cluster on the inside of the right frame rail for ground effect lighting. Place the 12-LED cluster beneath the oil tank/seat pan/battery box to light the rear of the compartment. Here too if you need to cut the strip you can every 3 LEDs.
When choosing saddlebag lights some bikes have room for an entire strip under each bag. The strip should be mounted to the bag support frame and not the bag itself. Measure your bike to see what will fit. On Street Glides you can mount a segment to each fender extension to light up the rear of the bike. If your bike doesn't have bags you may be able to mount a segment under the rear fender strut each side. Other options include wrapping the rear caliper, inside the rear fender, on the swingarm or on a softail frame in front of the tire.
To light the front wheel take the ordered wheel lights and install on the inside of the front (or rear) brake caliper. Align the fixture(s) to get the look you want. Run the power lead up the brake line and back to the power source. When the front wheel light option is added you will receive all the install supplies needed to install the lights. If you have braided lines consider adding that to your order. Our braided kit adds six feet of braided material plus chrome zip ties. This kit is easy for a do-it-yourselfer. Includes all you need other than a few hand tools. Just like the chrome on your bike, this kit is fully expandable and allows you to easily add additional strips in the future.
Sealed, Flexible Strips
The LEDs on our Hi-Intensity LED strips are sealed against the elements. They are heat resistant, waterproof and easily cleaned for a lifetime of maintenance free operation. The soft, gel-like strips provide maximum flexibility and a clean and sleek appearance. Their low profile design makes them virtually invisible when placed on the bottom of your tank and their wide viewing angle floods your bike with light.
These strips can be cut every 3-LEDs where indicated. When cutting a strip you will need to place a piece of heat shrink tubing over the cut ends to make a watertight and insulated seal. As an option, you can also use silicon sealant. Metric bikes with a large tank may need an entire strip under each side of the tank, whereas a typical Harley will take a 24 to 27 LED-cluster under each side of the tank. Call us if you are unsure where to make your cut.
