JEEP Under-Glow LED Light Kit
Light up the under-body and grill of your JEEP with over 400 super bright hi-intensity LEDs! Walk Around Full-Perimeter + Grill Light Kit
Designed specifically for use in motorsports applications, this LED light kit is incredibly bright - no other competitor comes close. Boogey Lights Heavy Duty LED strips are ideal for the Jeep's off-road capabilities. Plus, our super-bright LEDs produce a smooth, even glow of super bright light to give your Jeep that custom look. Unlike all the others, this BOOGEY LIGHTS Jeep Under-Glow light kit contains 400 super brights LEDs -- at least twice the number of LEDs of any competitor. Plus, we only use 5050 LEDs -- the largest, brightest 12vdc LEDs available. With this many LEDs you get true FULL PERIMETER lighting under the Jeep (with the Full Perimeter 4 door option). Also includes the option to add GRILL lighting. Available for both 2 door and 4 door Jeep models.
HIGHLIGHTS
This Jeep light kit is available in both SINGLE COLOR and RGB MULTI-COLOR LEDs. With single color, you can use your own on/off switch or we offer a wireless on/off as well as wireless on/off + dimming switch. For the multi-color RGB version, you can control the light kit using either the included RF hand held remote OR your Bluetooth enabled smartphone and our free APP (IOS / Android). With the RF hand held remote and the Boogey Lights RGB LED controller you can change between seven pre-set colors: white, red, green, blue, pink, lime green, light blue. Also, you can control the functions of on/off, color blending, strobing, breathing, flashing, fading and 7 levels of dimming. In the Blending, Breathing, Flashing and Strobing modes these features can be set to remain on a single color or to cycle through each of the 7 colors. You can also adjust the speed at which this happens. With our Bluetooth APP and your smartphone, you can do everything the RF hand held remote does PLUS you can create a custom look with over 16 million possible different color combinations plus three pre-sets along with two or three color programming functionality. LED Configuration
This led light kit is available in the following three configurations:
- Under-Glow Basic / 2 Sides Only (drivers and passengers)
- Under-Glow Full Perimeter / 4 sides
- Under-Glow Full Perimeter + Grill
(available for both 2 door and 4 door Jeeps)
COLORS
- Single Color LEDs: White, Red, Green, Blue, Pink, Orange, Amber
- Multi-Color RGB or RGBA LEDs (LED controller required)
SWITCHING
- Single Color: No switch, Wireless On/Off, Wireless Dimming/On/Off
- Multi-Color GEN2 RGBx: Wireless RF + Bluetooth with 15 button M7 RF wireless remote
What is RGBA? On the RGBA led strip, in addition to RGB, you get one extra diode which is AMBER. That fourth diode on the RGBA led strip can be wired directly to our GEN2 LED Controller which supports RGBx LEDs. As an option, you could also wire that fourth diode to a completely separate on/off switch. Your choice. You could also use the Quick-Switch feature with this fourth diode too.
GEN2 Bluetooth + RF Wireless LED Controller
Our GEN 2 Bluetooth + RF Combo LED Controller includes our popular Programmable Color Rotation Feature. With any of the Boogey Lights® BLUETOOTH controllers you can control your lights with your Bluetooth enabled Android or IOS smartphone. These high-tech controllers are capable of displaying 16 million different color combinations. In addition, lighting effects on the Smartphone controller are signficantly more controllable in terms of speed and intensity. Each color and lighting effect is controlled by "sliders" or a color square on your smartphone screen so you can adjust the speed and intensity to get the lighting exactly the way you want it. Also, all of our SERIES 2 Bluetooth Combo controllers include an RF remote control allowing for quick on/off of the controller. You can operate this controller with the included RF wireless remote OR you can use your Bluetooth enabled smartphone and our free smartphone APP (Android and IOS).
OTHER ITEMS YOU MAY NEED
No two installation scenarios are the same. Not everyone shares the same installation quality goals. Some folks are OK with twisting wires together, others want to solder them. Some folks are OK with running wires where they may be seen or unprotected to save money/time, others want a tidy, clean install without any wires showing. Some folks are OK with mounting their LED strips to whatever surface they can find, others want to take the time necessary to build out appropriate mounting surfaces to provide the best lighting effect on their vehicle. The point is it's not possible to provide all the materials necessary for all installation scenarios and quality goals. Our light kits provide the essential components needed for a high-quality, functioning lighting system. Installation of our light kit to your specific vehicle may however require additional items to make it look and fit the way you want. This is particularly the case with electrical wiring and mounting of LED strips. Before proceeding with your installation we suggest you consider THESE OTHER ITEMS.
Installation
Installation of this led light kit takes 3 to 6 hours depending on which configuration you purchased. Kits that include the grill light kit take the longest because you'll need to remove the grill and build two quick-disconnect wiring harnesses (components supplied in the kit). Also, if you purchased the full perimeter light kit, you may or may not need to fabricate the mounting surface for the rear bumper area (see our installation video below @ 3:55 for an example of what we're referring to). We include the aluminum angle to do this. We strongly suggest viewing the installation video below. It will give you a good idea of what's involved. Where To Mount
There are three LED placement configurations. Below is a summary of each configuration:
Basic Under-Glow
- 2 - 30 LED Heavy Duty LED strips on each side of the Jeep (4 total for the four door Jeep). We mounted them on the slider slightly facing inward (see install video below for a better view of placement). For the two door Jeep, only ONE - 45 LED HD LED strip is mounted on each side (2 total).
Under-Glow Full-Perimeter
- 2 - 30 LED Heavy Duty LED strips on each side of the Jeep (4 total for the four door Jeep). We mounted them on the slider slightly facing inward (see install video below for a better view of placement). For the two door Jeep, only ONE - 45 LED HD LED strip is mounted on each side (2 total).
- 1 - 45 LED Heavy Duty LED strip under the front bumper.
- 1 - 45 LED Heavy Duty LED strip under the rear bumper.
Under-Glow Full-Perimeter + Grill
- 2 - 30 LED Heavy Duty LED strips on each side of the Jeep (4 total for the four door Jeep). We mounted them on the slider slightly facing inward (see install video below for a better view of placement). For the two door Jeep, only ONE - 45 LED HD LED strip is mounted on each side (2 total).
- 1 - 45 LED Heavy Duty LED strip under the front bumper.
- 1 - 45 LED Heavy Duty LED strip under the rear bumper.
- 1 - 30 LED low-profile LED strip at the bottom of the radiator, behind the grill, shining upward (see video for placement)
- 1 - 18 LED low-profile LED strip on the inside of the top of the grill shining downward (see video for placement). Includes quick-disconnect connector.
- 1 - 12 LED low-profile LED strip on the inside of the top of the grill shining downward (see video for placement). Includes quick-disconnect connector.
Note that each of the Heavy Duty LED strips have a 36" power lead so each of these power leads will need to be extended. We include power lead extension cable and heat shrink in the kit for this. The quick-disconnect connectors referenced above for the grill light kit are also included in the kit but you have to assemble the wiring harnesses. We suggest wrapping the LED power leads in split loom (included) to protect them from chaffing and abrasion.
LED CONTROLLER / SWITCH
For kits that include an LED Controller or wireless ON/OFF Switch we recommend mounting them in the engine bay and connecting them directly to the battery. See install video (@ 4:35) below for how we did it.
