Mini T12 Aluminum Channel
Our Mini T12 Low Profile Aluminum and Black Channels are designed to work with Boogey Lights® RGB and Single Color LOW PROFILE LED light strips (they will not work with our HEAVY DUTY LED strips). Note that while it is possible to fit the RGBA or RGBW LOW PROFILE LED strips into the channel, use extreme caution when doing so. Why? The inside aluminum channel measurement and the RGBx LED strip outside width are nearly the same. You run the real risk of damaging the LED strip if you use too much pressure to force the LED strip into the channel. These aluminum channels and the optional opal and smoke diffuser make for a clean and professional look in situations where the LED strips are in plain view. The diffuser gives off a nice glow lighting effect too. Note that the smoke diffuser will reduce the light by about 33%.
The Mini T12 aluminum channel is a low profile design that can be mounted just about anywhere. The Mini T12 has an anodized finish (electrostatic sprayed) which provides maximum protection against the elements. The aluminum channel acts as a heat sink too. They're ideal for harsh indoor or outdoor use to protect the LEDs. The channel can be mounted any number of ways including 3M VHB Adhesive tape (with 3M Adhesion Primer), rivets or screws (we prefer rivets whenever possible). Then, our Low Profile LED strips fit nicely into the channel using the 3M tape already affixed to the back of Boogey Lights LED rolls. The diffuser completes the installation by snapping into the channel. Available in standard ALUMINUM finish and BLACK finish. Diffusers are OPAL and SMOKE. Note that we only offer the Black Aluminum channels and diffusers in the 78" lengths. THERE ARE NO END CAPS.
On outdoor installations we advise adding Lexel Clear Adhesive to the ends of the channel as well as along the sides (if the snap in diffuser is used) to seal it. Installation Documentation can be downloaded here. If your application requires longer lengths, simply use multiple channels and butt them end-to-end. We do it all the time. These channels are not available in longer lengths (shipping costs would be prohibitive). Note too they do not have any pre-drilled mounting holes but of course you can easily drill through them as they're aluminum. The channel and plastic diffuser can be cut to fit using a fine tooth band saw (or equivalent).

⚠️ If you are using these channels with any of our four diode LED strips (eg. RGBx, REDx, Dual Color) you can use these channels HOWEVER you cannot snap the plastic diffuser over the strip. The four diode Low Profile strips are 12mm wide which is the same width as the channel (see diagram) so the LED strips will fit if you're careful during the installation. The plastic diffuser however will not fit on top of the LED strip and in most cases will damage the LED strip if you attempt to do so.
