Volvo VNL 780 / 670 LED Under-Cab Accent Light Kit
Looking to make your HDT stand out? Our LED accent lighting kit will do just that! Designed to mount under the cab on a Volvo VNL 780 or 670 this lighting kit is available in both SINGLE COLOR and MULTI-COLOR (RGB) versions. The kit includes two surface mounted LED strips with power-leads that are designed to attach under the cab with the LED strip facing down toward the lower fairing. The single color version is available in your choice of one of six super-bright colors: Orange, Red, Green, Blue, White or Pink. Also, you have your choice of BLACK or WHITE PCB. With the single color version you'll need to either add your own on/off switch or wire them into an existing circuit.
The multi-color RGB version provides over 16 million color combinations that you control and includes it's own on/off wireless switch. The multi-color RGB kit includes our Super combo Bluetooth + RF M7 controller so you can control the lights with your Bluetooth enabled smartphone or the included wireless RF remote control. With any of the Boogey Lights® BLUETOOTH controllers you can control your lights with your Bluetooth 4.0 enabled Android or IOS smartphone. These high-tech controllers are capable of displaying 16 million different color combinations. In addition, lighting effects on the Smartphone controller are significantly more controllable in terms of speed and intensity. Each color and lighting effect is controlled by "sliders" or a color square on your smartphone screen so you can adjust the speed and intensity to get the lighting exactly the way you want it. Our controllers operate on 12vdc. Also, all of our SERIES 2 Bluetooth Combo controllers include an RF remote control allowing for quick on/off of the controller. You can operate this controller with the included RF wireless remote OR you can use your Bluetooth 4.0 enabled smartphone and our free smartphone APP (Android and IOS).
IMPORTANT WARRANTY NOTICE FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE APPLICATIONS
These surface mounted Hi-Intensity LED strips are not intended to be used on heavy duty commercial equipment which frequently operate in extreme cold weather climates on roads treated with corrosive chemicals used for melting snow and ice. Over time these chemicals will erode the epoxy coating and expose the circuitry to moisture. Additionally, these LED strips are not built to withstand significant lateral flexing, twisting and/or bending of the mounting surface often associated with heavy duty commercial truck applications. This is particularly true for mounting surfaces such as frame rails and related chasis sub-structures. The lateral movement of the mounting surface stresses the PCB to the point at which the solder joints fail causing the strip to short out. Hi-Intensity Strips that fail in these operating environments ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. For these types of operating environments we recommend our HEAVY DUTY LED STRIPS or choose one of our HEAVY DUTY TRUCK LED KITS.
Extra 3M Adhesion Primer
3M Promoter is a powerful adhesion primer. It's an essential step in the installation process but you don't need much to make it work. A simple single swipe on the surface you're mounting the light strip to is all you need. Our lighting kits include enough 3M Adhesion Primer to mount the strips in the kit for most installations. Some customers however feel better if they "paint" the mounting surface completely with it -- which is fine. The problem is that 3M Adhesion Primer isn't readily available everywhere; particularly weekends, holidays and evenings. If you use all of the primer that's included with the kit but run out before you're finished, you'll have to wait to finish the job until you get more adhesion primer. If you're one of those people who would prefer to have a little adhesion primer left-over just in case, we offer the option of adding additional tubes to your order. Or, if you prefer, an entire 8oz can of 3M Adhesion Primer can be added to your order.

Where To Mount
Each LED strip is mounted under the cab with the LED strip facing down toward the lower fairing. White trucks will have a brighter glow effect because of the way the LED lights reflect off the paint. The LED strip with the 25' power lead is intended to be used on the passenger's side as the power lead needs to run across the under-side of the cab and over to the battery compartment to connect to your 12v power source (or controller if purchasing the RGB Multi-Color version). The strip with the 15' power lead is intended to be used on the driver's side. If you purchase the RGB multi-color version, the controller is mounted either inside the fairing under the driver's side or in the driver's side jokey box. The dual lock reclose-able fastener makes it easy to remove the controller if need be. It is important to make sure the power lead wire on the passenger's side is routed far enough away from the DPF and related exhaust pipes as these get very hot.
Note on color selection: Amber is the only color that can be used while driving. We've found that white is very helpful when parked for working around the truck. The Bluetooth controller allows you to setup presets for your color selections as well as features which include dimming, strobing, breathing and color blending. In our demo truck we have one button pre-programmed for AMBER which we also dim by 50% so it isn't so bright.
The Boogey Lights® Bluetooth controller included with this light kit also has our new SERIES 2 firmware which gives you the ability to program the controller to display two or three colors of your choice and then rotate those colors in sequence. For example, let's say it's Fourth of July and you want your lights to rotate through the color sequence of RED, WHITE and BLUE . Or, perhaps your favorite sports team's colors are Red and White and you want your lights to continually rotate through a color sequence of RED and WHITE. This SERIES 2 firmware controller and smartphone APP will do that - and more. You can for instance vary the speed of the sequence as well as the brightness. You can also choose from one of two different sequencing effect modes: BREATHING or ROLLING. Additionally, you can save these configurations in up to 3 presets such that you're able to recall the lighting configuration with a press of a button.
WANT TO ADD MORE LIGHTS? If you want to add more lights to this configuration you have several options. One is to add our HOOD AIR INTAKE VENT LIGHTS. Another is to add additional LED strips like the ones in this kit. We offer ADD-ON Multi-Color RGB LEDs in varying lengths of LEDs and power lead. In addition, if you want to add more lights underneath the truck or in areas that have a high-probability of coming into contact with flying rocks, road debris or diesel fuel, our HEAVY DUTY LED STRIPS are another option. The limitation you need to be aware of is the number of LEDs. The Super Combo Controller included in the RGB version of this kit will power up to 900 LEDs. If you want to light more than 900 LEDs, you can upgrade the controller to our HEAVY DUTY Controller which will power at least 1800 LEDs. If you need assistance in deciding which lighting configuration is best for your application, give us a call and we'll be happy to assist.
Why does the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Matter? LED lights are mounted to a Printed Circuit Board (or PCB for short). The color of that PCB makes a difference in how the finished installation looks in the daylight. Our LED light strips come in two versions to match the surface the strip will be attached to. If you have a light colored truck you will probably want to order the WHITE PCB light strip. If you have a dark colored truck, you will probably want to order the BLACK PCB light strip.
