NOTE ON RETURN POLICY FOR THIS PRODUCT:  This product is considered a custom ordered product which may not be eligible to be returned - or if so, it will be subject to additional fees and/or restrictions. Be sure to read our RETURN POLICY for details.

ADJUSTABLE LENGTHS

This product can be configured with up to 6 different LED strip lengths. The default configuration includes: Two - 2' LED strips (A & B), One - 4' LED strip (E) and One - 6' LED strip (F). We do not use C & D. The LED strip lengths are offered in one foot increments from one foot to six feet. If you need partial lengths, order the longer size. You can cut the LED strips every three LEDs. The layout diagram in the photo carousel has those six mounting locations labeled A through F to make it easier to order. You can DOWNLOAD THIS PDF of that layout diagram as well. While this layout is common for many goose neck trailers nothing says you can't alter the layout. You can mount the LED strips whereever you want. Many goose neck trailers have cross beams under that area where the LED strips will mount to. Each LED strip includes a 10' power lead hard wired to it. LED strips use black PCB.

When taking measurements of the area you have available to mount your LED strip keep in mind that the LED strip MUST be mounted flat against a single continuous mounting surface, in a straight line; it cannot bend around a radius or corners. Plus, the entire strip needs to be stuck to the mounting surface and not span across mounting surfaces. If you do, the strip will almost certainly fail in the spot that isn't affixed firmly to the mounting surface or, the point at which is spans across the two mounting surfaces. If you don't have a smooth, flat, contiguous mounting surface we recommend riveting or screwing 1.5" wide aluminum flat stock (or plastic flat stock) to the surface and then mount the LED strip to that flat stock. In some cases you may need to use aluminum L channel. More details about this can be found on the INSTALLATION TAB of the product page. The point is to carefully examine the bottom surface of the goose neck area of your trailer when you're taking these measurements before placing your order.

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

LED Color: Select the LED color you want from the drop down box. There are eight possible single color options (Red, Green, Blue, White, Orange, Amber, Pink, Magenta), seven DUAL-COLOR options and three multi-color options (RGB, RGBW, RGBA). Selecting the LED color option will adjust the available options you can select based on your color selection. See CONFIG tab for more detail on the multi-color options.

Light Kit Configuration: Select the switch type you want from the drop down. Default is none. See CONFIG tab for more details on these options.

RGBW: On the RGBW led strip, in addition to RGB, you get one extra diode which is Warm White. That warm white diode has a Kelvin temperature of 2400 which means it has a yellowish look giving it a warmer, softer, candle like look (see photo below). That fourth diode on the RGBW led strip is often wired to simple ON/OFF switch OR zone 2 of our Dual Zone LED controller. See the CONFIG tab on this product page for more details on this option.

RGBA: On the RGBA led strip, in addition to RGB, you get one extra diode which is AMBER. That fourth diode on the RGBA led strip is often wired to a simple ON/OFF switch or zone 2 of our Dual Zone LED controller. See the CONFIG tab on this product page for more details on this option.

WHAT IS RGB + AMBER (RGBA)?

RGBA is a new type of LED strip format Boogey Lights® developed. It is available in both our Low Profile and Heavy Duty LED strip formats. The RGBA led strip includes our core RGB tri-chip technology using a 5050 RGB LED with the addition of a fourth 2835 diode that is AMBER. Designed primarily for motor vehicle applications, that fourth AMBER diode can be wired to a separate switch on the dash (or tied into a relay to work with existing running lights) that allows you to quickly and easily turn on just the AMBER leds. Then, for those who want the flexibility to be able to display up to 16 million color combinations using the RGB tri-chip, they can do that too. RGB + A provides the best of both worlds. Single color amber plus RGB tri-chip multi-color. The product photo carousel of this product page includes a close-up view of the LED strip design and wiring diagram. Note that due to the addition of that fourth diode, the RGBA strips are a little wider than our standard tri-chip RGB and single color LED strips.  Also, the power lead wires use five conductor vs four. For additional information including product specs, click the SPECS navigation tab on this product page.

WHAT IS RGB + WHITE (RGBW)?

RGBW gives you two different white color temperature options on a single LED strip: Bright White (aka 'cool white' @6000k) and Warm White (aka 'candle white' @2500k) ... PLUS ... SIX additional colors with the RGB diodes. On an RGB LED strip, mixing equal parts red + green + blue = bright white. Some people call it a 'cool white' because it has a blueish tint to it and is excellent for functional lighting. That bright white color however can be a little over-powering even when dimmed when you want a more subtle, accent light. Enter RGBW. On an RGBW led light strip, in addition to RGB (which will create Bright White), you get an extra diode which is Warm White. That extra warm white diode has a Kelvin temperature of 2500 which means it has a yellowish look giving it a warmer, softer, candle like look (see photo below). That fourth diode on the RGBW led strip can be wired to an existing OEM switch allowing you to turn on just the warm white diode with the flip of a switch. Or, you can use the included RF wireless remote to control that fourth Warm White diode (along with the RGB diodes too).

WHAT IS DUAL COLOR?

The Dual Color LED configuration uses our RGBA LED strip but instead of pairing that LED strip with an RGB LED controller (to mix up to 16 million different color combinations), we hard wire a combination of one, two or all three of the RGB diodes (red, green or blue) along with the AMBER diode to two on/off switches. One switch operates the primary color diode(s). The other switch operates the amber diode. There are a total of seven Dual Color configuration options: RED+AMBER, GREEN+AMBER, BLUE+AMBER, MAGENTA+AMBER, YELLOW+AMBER, CYAN+AMBER, WHITE+AMBER. With a Dual Color configuration you don't need an LED Controller. Instead, you only need two switches (and relays); one to control each color. The primary color is chosen from the available dual color drop down list. The secondary color is always amber.

USING 3M ADHESION PRIMER

To achieve the full adhesive strength of the 3M® tape affixed to the back of each strip 3M® Adhesion Promoter (aka Primer) must be applied to the mounting surface first. This is an important step to ensure a secure bond. The 3M® Adhesion Promoter creates a chemical bond between the tape and the mounting surface such that the LED strip will stay stuck (at least until you decide you want to remove it). Using any other solvent such as rubbing alcohol or acetone is not the same thing as using 3M® Adhesion Promoter. While these solvents will help clean the surface, they do not prime the surface. There is a difference. 3M® Adhesion Promoter is included with this kit although you may elect to purchase more if you'd like.

Will Boogey Lights® Work with Other Brands?

The short answer is probably not. All Boogey Lights® RGB LED strips are COMMON CATHODE LEDS. They share a common ground and will only work with positively switched controllers. Most LED strips on the market today are COMMON ANODE because the controller technology used to power them is less expensive to manufacture. However they're not nearly as bright and are an overall inferior design when compared with COMMON CATHODE LEDs. For more information, click the button below.

OTHER ITEMS YOU MAY NEED

No two installation scenarios are the same. Not everyone shares the same installation quality goals. Some folks are OK with twisting wires together, others want to solder them. Some folks are OK with running wires where they may be seen or unprotected to save money/time, others want a tidy, clean install without any wires showing. Some folks are OK with mounting their LED strips to whatever surface they can find, others want to take the time necessary to build out appropriate mounting surfaces to provide the best lighting effect on their vehicle. The point is it's not possible to provide all the materials necessary for all installation scenarios and quality goals. Our light kits provide the essential components needed for a high-quality, functioning lighting system. Installation of our light kit to your specific vehicle may however require additional items to make it look and fit the way you want. This is particularly the case with electrical wiring and mounting of LED strips. Before proceeding with your installation we suggest you consider THESE OTHER ITEMS.

WHY BOOGEY LIGHTS®?

Unlike most every other light kit out there, these light kits are ACCENT LIGHT KITS. When mounted properly, you'll never see the LED lights themselves. You'll only see the glow from the LEDs. If you're interested in learning more about WHY Boogey Lights are different than any other LED lighting system on the market, click here: WHY BOOGEY LIGHTS . We do a deep dive into the ten differences between Boogey Lights® and all the others.

Product Configuration Options

NEW GEN2 CONTROLLER OPTION

This product offers our new GEN2 family of LED Wireless Controllers. It's called the GEN2 or simply the G2 LED controller. These new G2 LED controllers have the same capabilities as our GEN1 LED controllers along with some new features, capabilities and design improvements. You can read more about these new features on our GEN2 COMBO LED CONTROLLER product page. You'll see these new G2 LED Controller being offered in the CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION drop down of this product page. If you're considering purchasing this kit in either the RGBA or RGBW format, we suggest considering the GEN2 LED Controller because this new controller series has the ability to control that extra Amber or White diode on the same controller. With our GEN1 LED Controller, you'll need to wire in another switch of some type to control that extra diode. The GEN2 controller has that capability built-in; it can power RGB, RGBx and RGBxx LEDs.

LED COLOR OPTIONS

This LED light kit is offered in eight single color options, seven dual-color options and in the following multi-color configurations: RGB, RGBW (RGB + warm white) and RGBA (RGB + amber). Single color simply means the LED strip is one color all the time. The color cannot be changed. The color you choose is the color you get. Dual-Color means you have two colors to choose from. Multi-Color means you can change or select different colors. All of the multi-color RGB options require an LED controller to operate. The advantage of RGB over a single color LED strip is that RGB gives you the ability to change colors as well as access other features such as dimming, flashing, breathing and color blending. With the bluetooth interface, you can save favorite color/feature sets as well as program 2 or 3 color rotation sequences. More detail about these advanced features can be found on the product page. With RGB you can choose between 7 (using the hand held wireless remote) and 16 million (using the bluetooth APP) different color combinations. RGBW includes all of the RGB colors and capabilities plus the addition of a warm white diode (2400 kelvin temp). Warm white is often referred to as a 'candle white' or 'soft white'. RGBA includes all of the RGB colors and capabilities plus the addition of an amber diode. Amber attracts fewer bugs than white. It's also not nearly as bright; easier on the eye at night which some folks prefer. We have included a photo of these different color temperatures of white on the main product page. Make your selection from the LED COLOR OPTION drop down.

KIT CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

The LED KITController Configuration Options offers the following SINGLE COLOR, DUAL-COLOR and MULTI-COLOR controller options as follows:

No Switches or Controller. This is the default selection. Select this option if you are connecting this goose neck led under-glow light kit to an existing Boogey Lights installation or you already have some other switching mechanism you're using.

Single Color w/Push-Button On/Off. Select this option if you want a simple on/off switch. Designed for Single Color only. Max amperage is 10 amps.

Single Color w/Wirelss On/Off + Relay. Designed for single color installations, this on/off switch is wireless. It includes two wireless RF keyfobs that allow you to turn on/off the LEDs. Max amperage is 5 amps. We also include a 30amp relay for situations where the amperage is greater than 5amps.

Dual Color w/Switch and Relays. Designed for dual color installations. This is an on/off/on switch with two heavy duty relays to control the two colors.

Multi-Color RGB Single Zone. Will work any of the multi-color LED strips offered (e.g. RGB, RGBA or RGBW). This controller will power up to 1800 LEDs (20 amps) all on one single zone. This is a COMBO LED Controller in that it includes both an M7 style RF wireless hand-held remote and Bluetooth integration. This LED controller can be used with any of our RGB LED strips including the RGB, RGBW and RGBA. If using it with RGBW or RGBA, the W or A diode will need to be controlled by some other mechanism; often a simple on/off switch or another LED controller. For more information on how to wire an RGB LED controller to RGBW or RGBA leds, click on the link below. With the included RF wireless hand-held remote you can change between 7 colors (Red, Green, Blue, White, Light Blue, Boogey Lights Green (lime green/yellow), Hot Pink/Purple) and functions of on/off, blending, strobing, breathing, flashing, fading and dimming. You can also use your Bluetooth enabled smart phone to create that custom look with over 16 million different color combinations plus three pre-sets and color rotation programming functionality. See additional details (with video) and it's capabilities on the APP navigation tab appearing on this product page. With both an RF wireless remote AND bluetooth integration, you get the best of both worlds. This controller is 5.5" long x 3.25" wide and 1.5" high. Note that the overall length to accommodate room for wires is 7.5".

Multi-Color: Dual Zone. This controller offers the same functions and features as the multi-color single zone controller mentioned above but it's a DUAL ZONE LED Controller. There are two distinct lighting zones. This controller will power up to 3000 LEDs with a max capacity of 1500 LEDs per zone (20 amps max per zone). Common reasons customers prefer the Dual Zone controller over the Single Zone controller is they wish to segment their under-glow system include two segments. Eg. Drivers side on Zone 1. Passenger's side on Zone 2. Another example is if you're buying the RGBA or RGBW LEDs. Zone 1 is wired to the RGB diodes and Zone 2 is wired to the A (or W) diode. One controller will then operate both the RGB and the A (or W) diodes. This controller is 5.5" long x 3.25" wide and 1.5" high. Note that the overall length to accommodate room for wires is about 10".

A Word about Controlling RGBA and RGBW LED Strips

If you're buying either of these two LED color combinations, our multi-color RGB controller will power the RGB LED components in those two LED strips. What you use to power the A (or W) diodes is up to you. It depends solely on what you're trying to do. We recommend the DUAL ZONE LED controller only because it has two distinct lighting zones so you can wire the RGB LEDs to Zone 1 and the A (or W) diode to Zone 2 but it doesn't have to be that way. You can for example use a simple on/off toggle switch to turn on/off that fourth A (or W) diode. Another option is to use our wireless on/off led controller coupled with a heavy duty relay to turn on/off that fourth diode. It ultimately comes down to how you want to use your lighting system. If you're confused or unsure about this, we urge you to give us a call at 800.847.1359 M-F, 9-5 eastern and speak with a product specialist. We can assist you with the process of determining how best to achieve the lighting effect you want.

Using an RGB LED Controller with RGBW or RGBA LED Lights

INSTALLATION TIPS

Depending upon the mounting surface of your goose neck surface you may need want to consider using ALUMINUM CHANNELS.

  • WE STRONGLY SUGGEST BENCH TESTING YOUR LIGHTS AND CONTROLLER BEFORE MOUNTING!  We cannot emphasize this enough.  Probably 95% of all calls we receive from customers are about problems or issues that could have easily been avoided had the customer taken the extra 15 minutes to bench test their lighting setup before installation.  Not only does bench testing give you an opportunity to understand the configuration, it also will flush out any problems or misunderstanding about the product and use before mounting.
  • Make sure you know where your electrical connection will be and how you are going to route the power leads from the power source to your LEDs.
  • The only way to ensure the LED light strip stays stuck is to make sure you prepare the surface in accordance with the directions. Every LED light kit we sell includes 3M promoter (aka "primer"). It's absolutely critical the surface be prepared using this special 3M promoter and that you follow the directions provided with every light kit.
  • If you need to cut the LED strip, make sure you do it before affixing to your vehicle. Our LED strips can be cut every 3 LEDs and are clearly marked.
  • When in doubt, call our technical support team! We're the experts. Since 1989 we've done this thousands of times. We know what works.
